The gryphon is a hybrid of a lion and and eagle, often depicted as a guardian of treasures, both literal and metaphorical.  The duality of the creature also symbolizes harmony between earthly and heavenly realms. 

This coin is a STUNNER.  1 oz. of solid silver.  Limited edition minting (only 999 made) from Cook Island.  The coin design has a gorgeous high relief to it viewable from the side.  (see photos)

Product Details:

18" long with a lobster claw closure.  Genuine Cook Island coin.  

Hand made chain of sterling silver and gold.  Silver has been oxidized to achieve the dark, velvet color that matches the coin.  Gold accents for richness, color and warmth.  The coin is set in a handmade polished brass bezel.
